This week we begin a new series of messages from book of Ezra, "The restoration of Worship." The title of this week's message is actually a declaration of our faith…God keeps his word. God promised that if the children of Israel were disobedient in worship that he would raise up an enemy that would take them into captivity and that later he would redeem a remnant who would return to worship Him. These promises are fulfilled in the time and account of Ezra. The opening words of book are, “… in order to fulfill the Word of the Lord.” God keeps his word.

I will be preaching from 1John 2:1-6 a message titled: Faith that is Real. In the scripture text, John is pointing out the difference between simulated faith and real faith. He tells us that some confess to be followers of Christ but they are living in darkness and walking their own way. Make sure that your faith is built on a relationship with Jesus Christ and is lived out in obedient discipleship.

As we live for Christ He requires our faith. Faith involves our willingness to risk what we know in this life because of the confidence we have in the next. Join us in worship today as we learn from the account of the life of Jonathan in 1 Samuel 14. Let's praise him.

This Sunday as we gather to worship our Lord Jesus Christ, we will open the scriptures to read a pair of Kingdom parables found in Matthew chapter 13. We have a tendency to hold back. We are tempted to give God the leftovers of our life. Through these parables Jesus teaches us of the priceless joy that comes from through yielding our whole life to Him.

On Wednesday nights we have been doing a study through the book of Exodus. This past week we completed the ninth commandment leaving the 10th command for this Sunday, “Do not covet.” Though most of these commandment are given in a "Do not” or negative statement they all clearly have a positive intention. In the case of the 10th commandment, our creators intention is that we would live a life of contentment. The Bible shows us the way to this fulfilling life and it is faith in Christ that gives us the strength to know the joy of contentment.

For the message this week we are going to read Jesus’ teaching of the wheat and the tares. It is a wonderful explanation of why things are the way they are in the world and clear explanation of what we will become in the Kingdom of God. We will be reading from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 13 for the message titled “The Good, The Bad, and the Judgement"
